Analysing networks of extraction

A serene table is an imagined place around which philosophers come together to find universal answers towards the further existence of the world. Any table could be placed anywhere in the world as an open invitation to find solutions that benefit humanity as a whole.

Ngamba's exploration of resource extraction and its impact on society in "The Serene Table of the HolyThesis” analyses the extraction networks orchestrated by Société Générale de Belgique.

It serves as a starting point for a broader dialogue about the complex relationship between resource exploitation, labor, technological advancement, and the ongoing struggle for power and agency in the information age.

It exposes the intricate entangled networks of exploitation that accompanied the colonial exploitation. The artists wants to explore further this exploitation networks.

The wooden table has been blackened by means of a firing process, an action that purifies and conserves the wood. In religious, spiritual, or animistic rituals, fire has multiple meanings. The artist embraces the many potential interpretations that certain materials or forms of choice encompass.
