London-Boma Oil Series
This series of paintings is defined by an execution across distinct geographic and climatic zones.
Rather than a traditional landscape, the series captures the transit of the medium itself. The foundational layers were applied in 5°51′S (Boma, DRC), a tropical environment characterized by high humidity and consistent heat. These atmospheric conditions directly influenced the initial drying time and the visceral texture of the oil.
Each piece is a literal hybrid of two latitudes, documenting the transition from the atmospheric density of Boma to the cooler, controlled environment of London.
The final layer was added in the temperate, urban climate of London (51°30′N).
